About La Jolla Underwater Park
Located in San Diego, California, La Jolla Underwater Park is very popular amongst scuba divers and snorkelers due to its four different habitats that can be explored; rocky reefs, sand belts, kelp beds, and submarine canyons. The city of San Diego decided to create the park back in 1970, along with two other parks within it that are a part of their “Look But Don’t Touch” exhibit; Ecological Reserve, and the Marine Life Refuge. Within the parks are artificial reefs that are used to attract more marine life that gently slope out into the sea. The artificial reefs make it so that the waves don’t hit as hard, making it so that it is a safer spot for kayakers and divers to enter the water.
Around the area of La Jolla, there are hundreds of different types of restaurants, bars, and shops for tourists to explore in. If you’re vacationing on a budget, then one of the better places to go for that is The Shores Restaurant; dine in style with a beautiful view of the beach while sampling some of the freshest food on the coast. If you’re looking to spend a little more on your trip, however, then George’s At The Cove is the place for you. Along with a view of the ocean, you’ll be able to indulge in their different cuisines (some of which are vegan/vegetarian-friendly) and partake in their happy hours.
In the heart of downtown La Jolla, you can visit the La Jolla Village Square and be witness to the many shops and other places that they have available, such as Best Buy, Trader Joe’s, The La Jolla Fencing Academy, AMC Theaters, Ross, and much more. If you want to bounce around between areas when it comes to shopping, then conveniently placed right near the Village Square is The Shops at La Jolla Village. Although very similar in titles, the areas are still different when it comes to what stores they have; for instance, The Shops at La Jolla Village is a mix of 26 different stores and over a dozen places to eat, such as Sprinkles Cupcakes and Ice Cream, CVS Pharmacy, Nordstrom Rack, The Melt, and more.
